About the Dressing Label
I was asked by Kozlik's Canadian Mustard, a leading mustard producer in Canada, to play around with a label for their new line of salad dressings. My role involved researching the market, identifying challenges, designing parameters, conforming to regulations, and conceptualizing a marketing strategy.

Research revealed an oversaturated market with hundreds of weakly designed salad dressings and one strong market leader. To create a unique label, I defined parameters that incorporated the existing brand and included a big unknown factor to stand out.

The final design needed to meet clear hierarchy, strong typography, and be representational to a certain degree, while still being abstract enough to stand out. With these parameters in place, I was ready to bring in the idea that would make the label stand out from the rest.

Disclaimer: The salad dressing label didn't make it into production, however, I believe that the idea is still one to be discovered for salad dressings!
About the Company

Kozlik's Canadian Mustard was established in 1948 and has remained family owned and operated to this day, producing hand-made mustard in small batches. Like our process, our recipe has not changed in over 60 years, nor has our commitment to sourcing the finest quality ingredients to make the best-tasting mustard possible. We are proud to be a part of Canada's mustard-making tradition, crafting our mustards with 100% Canadian mustard seed and sourcing our ingredients from local suppliers as much as we can. We are deeply committed to natural ingredients and socially responsible business practices.
