Portraits
I started out drawing by drawing portraits. I loved to draw portraits when I was young. I remember my Saturday doodle dates with my best friend Christin from primary school. We loved our hamsters, we loved Christin's playstation, especially the game Yoshi, and we loved to draw stuff. Christin was so good at Manga drawings. She was pretty advanced back then already! I, on the other hand, really liked drawing people from life for some reason. Oddly enough, I always drew people looking old, even when they were my primary school friends. I guess life is tough, even as a primary school kid.
Anyway, Christin and I enjoyed our quiet and calm Saturday mornings by drawing together. We didn't have much and we didn't need much—only a few pencils, paper, and here and there a Yoshi session.
Thank you Christin for making my Saturdays in a small Eastern German town so memorable.
These portraits are not in order nor is this a polished collection or in any way complete. As you can image I have accumulated quite a collection starting as a 7ish old pisher.*
*Pisher is a Yiddish word. You can look that one up if you wish.
