Cover concept:
I intended the appearance of a topographic map. The white lines suggest elevation from a bird’s-eye view. The letter Yud is subtly integrated three times into the map, becoming visible only upon closer inspection, adding a layer of depth and discovery to the design.
About the book:
Engaging in a textual trek through the interfacing dimensions of Yachid, Yachad and Yichud, this book takes us upon a journey of living uniquely, becoming united and experiencing union with the divine within our world.
The teachings of the Bible, the classical Rabbis, Kabbalah, Hasidism, the prayer book and piyyut here come together with the stories, poems, songs and sayings of Kafka and Jung, Bialik and Thoreau, Leonard Cohen and Gabor Maté, giving voice to the challenges and obstacles we face and how we might live our lives more joyfully and holistically.
Whether you are a novice explorer of, or well-versed in, the Jewish textual tradition, the selections and discussions you encounter herein will help you discover a greater understanding and an enriched appreciation of a living and dynamic Judaism.
